Every man should have the perfect New Year’s Eve outfit, it is only a choice.

La Rivista want to seize the opportunity to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Has been a year rich of satisfactions for our project, so we decided to gift you a little present. With that purpose we decided to focus on one of the best activity to spend the time during holiday, the so called “seventh art”: the Cinema, selecting a pool of movies perfect to enjoy yourselves on the Christmas’ time, enrich your knowledge and take some style prompt from those famous strips.

 Trading Places

The most classic of the Christmas movies, you may have seen it dozens of times, but you know you will never be tired of it. Every year is like a ritual, like trimming the tree, your Christmas can’t be perfect without it. This time try to focus of some more details, don’t just be dazzled by the sumptuous locations and wealth, but try to grasp the style of the young manager ready to rock wall street. Dan Aykroyd starring one of the protagonists, Louis Winthorpe III, is the perfect example of the young manager baked in Harvard. The classic american suit style and a lot of details.

 The Longest week

Truth must be said, the movie may feel slow, but the importance in that case is not the message but the “dress style”. The plot follows the life of the rich, decadent, supposed writer but in truth “ne’er-do-well, Conrad Valmont (Jason Bateman), in his pursuit for a meaning in his life. Does he have any quality? Yes, he has the savoir-faire of the New Yorker rich guy. A bit of sprezzatura, a dash of bohemian character and a squeeze of art: this is the recipe!

 The Blues Brothers

Are you tired of your frenetic life? Are you exhausted of Jingle bells, jingle bells Jingle all the way? Or, do you just want to take a brake with your boy/girlfriend? The Blues is the Answer. A couple in black suit with black sunglasses who play from their souls might relax and entertain your day.

 American Gigolò

Most girls may not admit it, but the charme of Richard Gere in American Gigolò is iconic. A sex symbol for her.

Moreover, is one of the first movies welcoming the works of Armani in Hollywood. Funny is the fact that firstly the outfits were prepared for John Travolta and when he stepped off and Gere was hired the designer had to prepare all the guard robe anew. If you want to be like Richard, please, use
the italian style!

 Breakfast at Tiffany’s

None knows whether is more famous the movie or Audrey Hepburn, but one thing is certain, if you are a young woman you have to see it. It may not change your life, but you have to know which “little black dress”(Gyvenchy) changed the story of fashion. An archetype of the feminist revolution or “just” the first modern woman? Look at it and decide.

Making a long story short this movie is one of Fellini’s masterpiece. What to do when the inspiration is gone? This is the question the artist tries to give an answer in this movie. If in your life you’re waiting for the light bulb turning on you may see yourself in the incredible Marcello Mastroianni.

 Live by Night

Prohibition, Rum, Spirits. No, is not a MòClub’s Appointment! It is a perfect mix for a modern gangsters’ movie.

The protagonist, Joe Coughlin, is one that gangster that you know to be bad, but can’t stop to like, maybe for his charisma, maybe for his high suits’ lapels and felt hats.

 The Great Gatsby (2013)

As stated by one of the Character the story of << the most hopeful man he had ever met>>.

A classic of literature as well of cinema. A story of hope and love in which Di Caprio doesn’t fail to meet the expectation. The 20’s culture is focused on this movie. The women at Gatsby’s parties wear fringe dresses, long necklaces, feather headpieces and smoke cigarettes. Yes, this should be a kind of our Appointment…

 James Bond series

The perfect English gentleman, or better the perfect English spy. Aston Martin, Omega and cold blood are his distinguishing signs.

The actors who interpreted the role are many, but the board selected two in particular both for the actor and for the beautiful “bond girls”, the deadly love interest in the movie’s saga:

o Gold Finger (Sean Connery and Shirley Eaton)
o Casino Royale 2006 (Daniel Craig and Eva Green)

Everyone had dream on time in his life to say:My name is Bond, James Bond… do not lie, we know!
